Kathy's Story
After graduation I went to work for a mini computer manufacturer in Oceanport, NJ. I took some part time classes at Brookdale Community College but did not graduate. I lived in Highlands,NJ moved to Bricktown where I bought my 1st home then Barnegat,NJ. I couldn't get enough of Long Beach Island. After 23 years,my whole world changed I was offered a job in Manhattan for a Dow Jones Company in Software Development Quality Assurance and worked with another Mater Dei graduate Sharon Young (may she rest in peace). I loved working there and it's where I also met my husband (John)- he was a reporter for the New York Stock Exchange (worked in the mosh pit-talk about STRESS).

ter 9/11 we left NYC got a reality check on the jobs & pay scales in NJ and packed up our home and moved to Cape Coral, FL. Here we are I am retired and my husband is semi-retired working for the school system in Lee County. Unfortunately no kids - but we do have 5 miniture schnauzers - that's a full time job in itself.
We love to golf(not me), fish, go to the beach it's the Gulf of Mexico - not as nice as the Atlantic but we get the most beautiful sea shells off of Captiva Island. The people we have met are great all from the east coast. We have been hit hard with the economy and housing here in Florida. We're survivors - I believe within a few years we will see a change.
